CBM Electronic Lighting
Electro-magnetic interference. Stray voltage. Two references. One big problem. Particularly for dairy farmers. Even though others fall victim to the effects of stray voltage, dairy farmers suffer in a multitude of ways. Ear tags can be mis-read or not read at all, causing frustration and discrepancy. Stray voltage is virtually undetectable by humans. Cows are not that fortunate. A minute amount of stray amperage can cause a cow to receive a painful jolt or shock. You’ve heard the expression, ‘once burned, twice shy’? That’s exactly how the cow feels. Have you ever tried getting a skittish cow into a milking parlor? It’s quite a challenge. Once the cow has been shocked, she is difficult to get near the parlor. Her fear and anxiety cause commotion and affect her milk output. Mastitis can also develop from this painful experience. Mastitis not only mandates special attention and the added expense of medication, it is lost milk. If milk output decreases, so does the farmer’s income.
CBM Electronic Lighting has dedicated much time, energy, and resources to alleviate this problem. It has been a successful endeavor. An in-line filter to eliminate this lighting-produced stray voltage has been developed and introduced. This filter is available in either a single- or multi-phase application.
If you determine your operation is experiencing stray voltage, contact your local CBM Electronic Lighting representative. Together, we can eliminate the problem.
