Lely USA to build new North American headquarter and production site in Pella, Iowa
Pella, Iowa – Lely, the world leader in robotic milking systems, has announced the company will soon expand their production facilities to include Pella, Iowa, the current headquarters for Lely USA. The expansion will grow the number of full-time employees at Lely’s U.S. headquarters from 4 as of November, 2010, to between 20-25 by the end of 2011. The expansion will help meet North American dairy producers’ growing demand for robotic milking equipment, feed and animal care innovations.
“Lely USA has been headquartered in Pella, Iowa for the past 7 years in conjunction with Vermeer,” said Peter Langebeeke, President of Lely USA. “It’s with great pleasure we’ll be able to pay back this incredibly supportive community with our significant facility expansion and new job creation.”
Plans include a 35 to 40,000 square foot production and office facility dedicated to the production and support of Lely’s line of robotic milking equipment, including the Astronautrobotic milking system as well as Lely’s complete line of feed and animal care products. The new space will be Lely’s first dairy production facility outside of their headquarters and production facilities in Maassluis and Rotterdam, Holland. The new facility will dramatically increase the product capacity in the North American market allowing the company to expand its current services and technologies to the North American dairy industry.
